UNC Alumni Association 970.351.2551 With communities all over the world growing more diverse, Professor Milian brings a global perspective to her classroom. Dr. Milian instructs graduate students at UNC in effectively teaching today’s culturally and linguistically diverse students. She also works with teachers from several countries in Central America and Pakistan as UNC’s director of an international program to improve educational opportunities for educators and students in those regions. Dr. Milian will share examples of how a student's school, society and environment in which they learn a second language affects their education and will invite attendees to participate in the conversation.
