Description
“The American West as Living Space: A Colorado Humanities Pulitzer Centennial Campfires Project” will foster conversations about the experience of the West as seen through the writings of Wallace Stegner, Annie Proulx, Diana Marcum, Louise Erdrich and Gary Snyder, among others.
Elizabeth A. Fenn, Chair of the History Department and Walter S. and Lucienne Driskill Chair of Western American History at the University of Colorado Boulder, will present the first session, discussing her Pulitzer Prize award winning non-fiction work, Encounters at the Heart of World: A History of the Mandan People.
Ron Edgerton, Professor Emeritus of History at the University of Northern Colorado, will facilitate each session, exploring the theme in the genres of non-fiction, journalism, fiction and poetry.
