Experienced cardiothoracic surgeon joins Banner Health, bringing Johns Hopkins training to Greeley
GREELEY, Colo. (Feb. 10, 2026) – Banner Health is strengthening advanced cardiac care in Greeley with the addition of Reed Quinn, MD, a cardiothoracic surgeon with extensive experience treating complex adult and congenital heart disease and a prestigious training background coming from Johns Hopkins Medicine’s Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Md. Dr. Quinn joins Michael Robich, MD, at the CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado in Greeley, further strengthening Banner’s cardiac program and bringing a deep commitment to patient-centered care.
Dr. Quinn specializes in adult cardiac surgery, including coronary revascularization, aortic and mitral valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery and congenital heart surgery. Over the course of his career, he has performed more than 5,000 open-heart procedures in both adult and pediatric patients.
“Cardiac surgery has been my calling from the very beginning,” Dr. Quinn said. “While these operations are routine for my team and me, I never forget that for patients and their families, this is often a once-in-a-lifetime experience. My goal is to ensure they feel informed, supported and confident at every step of the process.”
Dr. Quinn is known for his work in complex valve and structural heart procedures. His clinical interests also include innovative approaches to valvular heart disease and advanced surgical techniques designed to improve outcomes and recovery.
“Bringing a surgeon with Dr. Quinn’s depth of experience and clinical leadership to our region is a significant step forward,” said Dr. Robich, regional medical director for cardiovascular services for Banner’s western region. “His expertise allows us to care for patients with complex heart conditions close to home while continuing to advance the level of cardiac surgery available in Northern Colorado.”
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Quinn has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and participated in clinical research focused on advancing care for cardiac and valvular heart disease. He is also active in global health, having led international efforts focused on teaching and performing congenital heart surgery in Kenya and at Shanghai University in China for the last 13 years.
Dr. Quinn completed his cardiothoracic surgery fellowships at both Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa., in 1991 and 1993 and Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston in 1993. He earned his medical degree from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1985.
“When patients face heart surgery, trust matters,” Dr. Quinn said. “I take time to listen, explain the plan clearly and make sure patients and families feel at peace with the decisions being made. That trust is just as important as the operation itself.”
Outside of medicine, Dr. Quinn enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, rowing and traveling.
