Esteemed heart surgeon to lead cardiovascular services for Banner Health in the West
GREELEY, Colo. (June 18 2025) – Banner Health is pleased to announce the addition of Michael Robich, MD, a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon, to the CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado in Greeley. Dr. Robich brings nearly two decades of advanced surgical experience and leadership to his new role, including a strong commitment to building regional excellence in cardiovascular care.
In addition to performing advanced heart surgeries, Dr. Robich serves as the regional medical director for cardiovascular services for Banner’s western region, where he will lead program growth and development. His goal is to expand access to top-tier cardiovascular care throughout Northern Colorado.
“I want the program to grow and provide the best services in the region,” Dr. Robich said. “I want people to choose Banner Health for their cardiovascular care because we provide the best care.”
Dr. Robich completed his general surgery residency in 2011 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, a Harvard Medical School Teaching Hospital. In 2014, he completed his cardiothoracic surgery residency at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He has also worked at top institutions, including Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Tufts Medical Center.
“I fully committed myself to heart surgery early on in my career,” Dr. Robich said. “All the way through my general surgery training and cardiac surgery training, I worked as hard as I could to gain the knowledge and learn the skills needed. I was fortunate to work in jobs that were very busy. I had the opportunity to perform a lot of heart operations early on in my career and that helped me grow as a surgeon. In my 10 years in this specialty, I’ve been able to see a lot and do a lot because of those early experiences.”
Having spent all of his career on the East Coast, Dr. Robich and his family recently relocated to Colorado, drawn by the opportunity to make an impact and be closer to extended family in Boulder. Outside of medicine, he enjoys music, playing hockey and spending time outdoors with friends and family.
Dr. Robich is now seeing patients at the CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado in Greeley, located at 1800 15th St., Suite 340. Prospective patients can call (970) 810-4593 to learn more.
